I’m not completely sure, but I think this might be one of the signs of the Apocalypse.
A few weeks ago our good friend Ashley with Dogwoods and Dragonflies took family portraits of us on the stone steps at Percy Warner Park. She is an amazing photographer, and I LOVE this picture of Kate and Sara. I had to share!
You can see the whole album here.
After a great day with the family, which included family pictures in Percy Warner Park and a fabulous dinner at Mere Bulles, Kate is now laying in the bed, pitiful, and shivering with a 102 degree fever. Get well soon my little Kater Bug!
Whats the Green Team?
David….Kate’s school can get funding from external companies (like Disney) and other organizations by implementing and maintaining certain environmental programs within the school (like recycling). Two students are selected from each class and given the opportunity to be on the “Green Team” which helps with these programs. Kate was one of the two selected for this year from her class, and I believe she has already been invited to be on the team next year as well.
By far the most common way we hear it pronounced is either “Aggie” or “UhGee” as both mentioned below. Also, when I was in high school they engraved my name on the inside of my class ring as “Agree” just like Nikky said.
Congrats to everyone who had it right, and thanks for reading!!
Love the Agagee name 🙂
Not Agree? People mispronounce my last name all the time. Guerney, Gernsey….crazy.
I was saying UhGee in my head. Agagee is funny. 🙂
sweet, I got it right!
I was right:)
I had the vowels right, but had been using a hard “g” in my head.
Haha… okay, I’ve been pronouncing your name wrong this whole time. Well, I learned something new today!
Also, I’d been pronouncing it “aggie.” So totally wrong. 🙂
Since my Tumblr ID is “TeamAgee,” and this blog is named “Running with Team Agee” I started wondering how many people who follow the blog actually know how to pronounce our last name, Agee?
Even though it is very short, I would estimate that at least 75% of people pronounce it incorrectly the first time. Here is the proper pronunciation:
- agee is pronounced as ai – j ee where,
- ai is pronounced as ai in pain
- j is pronounced as j in jug
- ee is pronounced as ee in see
Another way to think about it is to simply say these two letters in sequence:
- A … G
After my wife and I were first married, and she changed her last name, she soon realized that whenever she provided her last name to make a purchase or complete some type of registration, she would also need to spell it. She got in the habit of just saying “My name is Olivia Agee, A..G..E..E.” After she had been doing this for a while, we started getting mail to our apartment addressed to Olivia Agagee, because people hearing her thought she had been spelling the whole time and never actually said her last name.
Probably the most famous person with this last name was the American author and screenwriter James Agee. You can hear his name pronounced by going HERE.
So who had it right?
Awesome!!!
WOW. She looks amazing!!
She looks like she is flying!
I wish my form looked SOMETHING like that!
I can’t wait until I have children and I can read HP with them.
Having kids is full of awesome experiences!
I was sitting in my cubicle at work just after 5pm and was one of only two people left in the building. The other was the President of the company who was in his office and having a very heated phone conversation with his wife. At the end of the conversation he slammed down the phone, turned off his office light, and walked out to my cube on his way out. He looked me right in the eye, pointed his finger at me, and said “Whatever you do, DON’T EVER GET MARRIED” and then walked out.
What he didn’t know was that in my pocket, at that very moment, was the ring I was planning to give to Olivia that evening when I asked her to marry me. As a matter of fact, those were the last words that I heard from anyone prior to picking up Olivia for dinner and ultimately “popping” one of the biggest questions of my life.
Now, 15 years later, I’m extremely thankful that I did not follow my boss’ advice and even more thankful that Olivia said “YES” all those years ago.
Happy Valentine’s Day Sweetheart!
P.S. – The President of that company and I are still dear friends, and yes he is still married! We’ve had a good laugh about this series of events through the years.
Last night I was worried about having to run today on the Dreadmill due to overnight storms in the Nashville area. We’ll, regardless of the storms, I just could not get out of bed early this morning to get in my run.
Even though I was bummed about this for most of the day, it ended up working out really well. After the storms passed, it was a really pleasant day with highs near 60. I came home from work a little early to try and sneak in my run, and ended up taking Sara with me in the running stroller. This was the first time I had tried the stroller in quite a while, because Sara used to HATE it. Tonight was a different story. We talked the whole time and had a great time. Awesome 6.5-miler in the books, and I didn’t have to run on the Dreadmill!!
Should be Awesome:
- 27” Display
- 16 GB RAM
- 256 GB Solid State Boot Drive
- 2 TB Data Drive
I’m such a GEEK!!
Shipping delay was due to a shortage of 2 TB hard drive because of the massive flooding in Taiwan.
Might be tough to go on a hike after a planned 18-mile run, but I’m gonna give it a shot if I can! Hope it doesn’t rain.
That is an INCREDIBLY nice thing to say. Thank you!
P.S. I wish I had her running form. She is a natural, even at 6.

Yo Gabba Gabba: I Like Bugs! – About 3 weeks ago on an 18-mile run I got so tired at the end that I started singing this song to myself (My kids watch way too much TV, thus the TV fast this past week). I think that might be a sign of delirium. What do you think?
Love this picture of my daughter Kate @RunRocknRoll #INGKidsRock Marathon in Nashville – Wish my running form was that good!!
So proud of Kate for finishing all 26.2 miles of the @RunRocknRoll #CMM Kid’s Marathon, including the last mile tonight. This was her 5th kid’s marathon completed!! Way to go Katerbug!!!
